Harry Blamires was a British Christian writer, literary critic, and student of C. S. Lewis. In The Christian Mind, Blamires examines the growing separation between Christian belief and Christian thinking in the modern world. He argues that many believers have retained Christian devotion while surrendering intellectual ground to secular culture. The book first diagnoses the problem—the lack of a Christian mind—and then explores the characteristics of authentic Christian thinking, including its supernatural orientation, awareness of evil, understanding of truth, acceptance of authority, concern for the person, and sacramental vision of reality. Blamires challenges Christians to recover a distinctly biblical way of understanding the world and to bring every area of life under the lordship of Christ.​​
